Think you know Marbella? Think again.
Marbella is in its prime, darling!
Summer 2022 has brought about a new awakening for the city after two restrictive years. The resort is about to have the time of its life, with new entertainment and leisure areas to try, exceptional new restaurants and events to mark the season.
There is a genuine buzz about town, we locals can sense it. It’s going to be a summer to remember.
New Places to Enjoy in Marbella
Marbella has always had plenty going for it, with its beachclubs, its hotels and entertainment areas on The Golden Mile just for starters. But this year, there’s a new soon-to-be-hot neighbourhood emerging around the old Puerto Banus bull ring. Not only is the market back on every Saturday morning in this area, but now you will see an exciting leisure venue, Marbella Arena. This stylish corner of town will host international acts with restaurants, cafes and bars. Worth a visit during your stay.
Just down the road from Marbella Arena in the same area, you will find the new Hard Rock hotel complex. Opening in July, this is going to expand the city’s possibilities with a spate of live acts as well as stylish bars and restaurants to try.
Live Music in Marbella for 2022: What’s new?
Do you love music? There’s the annual Starlite festival with a fabulous line up this year, a new festival in La Cala de Mijas and now for something a little different. If you are here in July you cannot miss this, a candelight tribute to Queen on 30th July in Benahavis. This event will be simply breathtaking under the gorgeous summer evening sky.
Do you like your music a little faster and sharper? For those who love a Latino party, check out this new festival, Ritmo Latino in Malaga on 5th and 6th August. Caliente!
New Hotels in Marbella
As well as the new Hard Rock Hotel, there is plenty more going on in the hospitality sector. A luxury resort has opened in the Sierra Blanca area of Marbella, The Club Med Magna, which is a 14 hectare site. With new hotels like this one and the Hard Rock will come an influx of new faces to the area, perfect to give Marbella the tourism boost it deserves.
